The objective of this article is to investigate how and where a support area - facilities acts in the NPD in an automobile company, discovering the importance this department (services centered) occupies in a company guided to products innovation. For this reason, we use a descriptive research - case study, based on documents, archives, and interviews in a plant located at Sao Paulo.
