Abstract

This paper presents a fully progressive image coder based on well-optimized M-channel linear phase paraunitary filter banks coupled with several levels of wavelet decomposition of the DC band if needed. The uniform-band transform can now be implemented as an overlapped block transform in a parallel fashion with fast, robust, and efficient lattice structures.
