Many researchers had emphasized regular shapes like square, rectangle and circular patches. In this paper, a pentagonal patch antenna is considered and impact of introduction of slot and DGS on bandwidth and gain is analyzed. It is evident from the results that bandwidth and gain are modified with introduction of slot and DGS. Simulation is carried out using HFSS software.
